Inspection features
Explore Tridi Viewer tools for projects, geometry, materials, animation, render passes, scene scale, wireframe, and CAD inspection.
Applies to Tridi Viewer 1.3.0 public beta. Release notes
Geometry and scene inspection
- Solid Wireframe displays imported source edges with a dedicated screen-space overlay designed to keep topology lines sharp.
- The Objects panel exposes hierarchy, selection, visibility, and live mouse box selection.
- Dimensions shows scene size, selected-object size, unit display, up axis, grid controls, and non-destructive Scene Scale presets from 0.01x to 1000x.
- The session-only UV View displays UV0 or UV1 beside the 3D scene, with synchronized material selection, per-face material filtering, render-pass surfaces, and an optional wireframe overlay.
- The opt-in experimental Mesh Validator can scan the entire scene or selected objects for geometry, normal/tangent, UV, skinning, and morph issues. Enable it under Preferences > System.
Materials and shading
- The Materials panel shows imported material and texture information.
- The selected-material properties panel exposes texture channels, UV tiling, blend and shading modes, Toon shadows and outlines, and advanced PBR controls including sheen, specular, clearcoat, transmission, IOR, attenuation, anisotropy, iridescence, and dispersion.
- Render passes isolate common material channels.
- Matcap Display and the UV checker provide additional diagnostic views.
Workspace, projects, and export
- Native Tridi Project (.tridi) files can save and reopen the current editable viewer session, including scene data, supported material and texture edits, visibility, animation state, camera and presentation settings, environment, workspace state, and a project thumbnail.
- Save and Save As support background project saving, unsaved-change tracking, and the default Ctrl+S shortcut.
- Resizable left and right docks keep inspection panels beside the viewport, with independent widths and detachable inspection panels.
- Application-wide undo and redo restores supported scene, selection, visibility, viewer, material, texture, and preset edits.
- Model export supports self-contained GLB/glTF and static OBJ. OBJ output is placed in a named folder with its MTL and referenced PNG texture maps.
Navigation, animation, and CAD
- Automatic Turntable camera rotation can be toggled with T.
- Animation playback includes clip, timeline, frame, speed, and loop controls.
- CAD edge inspection uses native curve topology from supported STEP, IGES, and BREP files.
