Save a Tridi project
Save and reopen an editable Tridi Viewer session as a native .tridi project with scene, material, camera, and workspace state.
Applies to Tridi Viewer 1.3.0 public beta. Release notes
Tridi Project files use the .tridi extension to save an editable Tridi Viewer session and reopen it later.
Save a project
- Open a supported model or an existing Tridi project.
- Choose Save from Project Actions or press Ctrl+S.
- For a new project, choose a destination for the
.tridifile. Use Save As when you want another project file.
What a Tridi project keeps
A project is a native Tridi Viewer snapshot rather than an interchange format. It can retain the canonical scene together with supported material and texture edits, object visibility, animation state, camera and presentation settings, environment data, workspace state, and a project thumbnail.
Project resources needed to reopen the saved viewer state can be embedded in the project. The original source model is not rewritten by saving a .tridi file.
Unsaved changes
Tridi tracks persistent project edits and marks the current document dirty when saved project data changes. Saving updates the project baseline, while returning edits to the saved values can clear the dirty state.
Actions that would replace or close a dirty project use unsaved-change protection so you can save before continuing.
Reload and Revert
Reload Model and Revert Model are separate commands in Project Actions and can be assigned in Preferences > Keymap. Their default shortcuts are Shift+R and Ctrl+Shift+R.
Use Reload when you want the model reload workflow. Use Revert when you want to reopen the current file from its saved state. Save important project changes before reverting.
